Benjamin Jarvis...Now in color!
Tataaah!....My first "real" PhotoShop painting. I've been admiring the works of the Utah guys for a while now and thought I'd give it a try myself. Unfortunately I didn't have anyone to teach and correct me, so it took a little extra exploring on my own to get this thing done. It can sometimes be a good way to learn stuff, since you figure out a bunch of other stuff along the way. It's no Utah piece, but being my first, I'm happy with the outcome. It was definitely a lot of fun to do:)
P.S. Who ever is left, thanks for hanging in there:) I know I've been a little slow with the updates lately.
Have a great weekend

My god! I hope you didn't use life reference for this one!!!
It looks like you got away fine with photoshop for the first time you used it on a painting. I'm sure we are going to see many more now and I bet you'll feel real comfortable with it as it's a great tool!
All the best for the weekend to you too.
Looks nice and creepy. Always happy to wait for your updates.
tjek lige hans!

keep it up my man....great start!
I think it looks awesome! Especially for a "first" piece?? And just think that it'll only get better from here on out....if you continue with it. :)
you are truly multifaceted! Is there any area you wont tackle? Great stuff Hans!
great start Hans! have a great weekend too! ;)
Nice stuff Hans! those are some crazy eyes
Have a nice photoshopcolormania, this is a good one. You'll see that after that, you'll prefear this kind of painting... or not.
Have a nice weekend too
Oh man, this is sweet! Awesome job, Hans!
Dude,that is AWESOME! LOL
-Great stuff man. :)
Great piece, I really like the formal attire and attempt to make himself presentable. Thanks for updatin', man.
Looks good Hans! The guys from Utah cheat- they use Painter instead of Photoshop. But they definitely do a fantastic job regardless!!
Nice work. I admire people who teach themselves. I'm a spoilt brat, need someone 24/7 to explain me everything at least trice.
I didn't work on 'Christmas Carroll' by the way, I was still studying at that time (LAS at Central Saints Martins: great course for all aspiring animators out there by the way)
I remember 'Christmas Carroll' being part of our clean-up lesson plan. The woman who thought us (Elaine, Lorraine?)worked on that film and took some stuff in.
Hello Vicking!!!!!!:-)
Isn't Photoshop a great tool?I'm still learning also. All by myself also.Internet has some good tutorials.I made a stop and changed to Corel because I needed to do some vectorial stufff...but I do love Photoshop!Congrats!

Hans! Great job, and welcome back to the world-o-blog. I have been out of it for awhile too. This is a great character. I love the smile, and how it just keeps going. For some reason I think he looks like a junior high school teacher. Nicely done!
Congratulations! Keep painting in PS...I feel you're on the right track. Great job, Hans.

This definitely looks much better than a first try with photoshop! Nice one.

Thanks too for your comments on my blog! I'd love to see them made into toys some day, but HOW? They're stickmen! Perhaps someday technology will catch up with my vision. :)

This is really great, Hans. You say this was your first photoshop painting? That's incredible!
Very cool. I always like to see when someone breaks away from what is comfortable, and dares to learn something new. Great job!
He's great but really spooky looking !!! :)
Awesome expression. I think you somehow painted my biology professor.
