Easy Button & Great great granddad

Wow, this is insane, two posts within four days!!!
Well, I have recently made it a habit, to take a few 5 min. breaks througout the day at work, to draw some of the things I'm thinking about while drawing what I get paid to draw. I send them by internal company email to my buddy Ben Reynolds, who sits right next to me. If I hear a sudden chuckle from Ben a few mins. later, I know I hit the target:). It's mainly caricatures of the huge array of "special" personalities working at the studio. Sometimes just silly thoughts.

Ok - that top one is HILARIOUS, because I just discovered a few weeks ago that a button like that exists! It was amazing for the first few minutes, but then it got old REALLY quick. Your drawing captures that perfectly!

So I finally made it to your blog… I’ve seen your posts on just about every blog that I have visited and you always have something to say that has substance. My hat to you.

First: Nice work! I really like the layouts, nice compositions

Second: I think it’s a great exercise to do these 5 min drawings. A good practice in letting things come to mind and execute the idea with spontaneity.

Third: The Animation Workshop… I took a concept development workshop there about a year ago. Man that is a great place, it’s full of energy, wonderful people, and talent. I don’t know if you’ve been back there, but the school is growing like crazy.

Keep up the good work.

I banned my kids from ever buying those buttons. They just don't understand why.

Say hi to Ben for me.

Great artwork, BTW.

Thanks a lot for the comments everybody. I'm having a lot of fun doing these, so it's an extra bonus when others can get a little kick out of it as well:)

Cesare: Unfortunately it's been three years since last I was in Denmark, so I haven't had the chance to stop by the good ol' Animation School. I've followed it's development from afar and it sounds like A LOT have happened since I graduadet. They have some excellent courses there and I was lucky enough to attend Richard Williams Masterclass while I was there.

Marcos: Don't worry Marcos, the "easy Button" will hit your office sooner or later and you'll know exactly what the joke is about;) It's the easy button from the Staples commercials that they actually started selling in the stores. Just a big red button that says...That was easy!...when you press it. Ok fun the first few times, but when everybody who walks in have to press it, it becomes old really quick!

Jampix: Ooh Ok, I've been on your blog a few times and was wondering why I couldn't leave a comment.

Again, thanks to you all and have a great weekend;)

Hans
