Shrimp Bait Logo

Just designed and colored this logo yesterday. It's going on a bucket in the latest CG film I've been working on at the studio. Normally you'd sit and come up with 15 different quick sketches and ideas, but sometimes I think the outcome is just as good, if you simply take the first idea you get and run with it. In that way you can concentrate on and develop that one idea, instead of spending a lot of time trying to figure out which of your 15 ideas is the best. I added the first rough sketch.

I undersand what you mean about the first shot being the most fresh. That's why I draw with a pen sometimes in order to force myself to just go with it. My pencil drawings often have many drawings within them. You really cleaned this one up nicely! What's the movie?

its pretty cool, love the colors. small tip though, if it was a real logo for a real place, and i was to make a presentation card, the rod would be barely visible if visible at all, no?

Thanks everybody, it's as always much appreciated:)

Lau : Thanks and Yes, you're absolutely right. I did actually have that in mind, but chose to keep it there, because the film is mainly shot from a bugs view. Therefore the logo on the bucket will only be shown in large scale, as the bugs passes by. Good observation though and thanks for your input:)

Have a splendid weekend everybody:D

Whoa man, your work keeps getting better and better. Its a shame that I haven't stopped by sooner to see the wonderful progress in your work. Yeah, I've heard good things too about James' studio. I really hope Sergio can get funding for Giacomo's secret too.. that would be an amazing film! I'll make sure to stop by again -sooner this next time :)

Hey fellow bloggers,

Thanks for all the wonderful comments. No better way to start the workday, than to see you've had a few new satisfied visitors on your blog. It keeps me going:)

Seth: Thanks. I don't wanna get in any kind of trouble, so I'll tell you in the next mail. I actually have another question for you as well, so I'll shoot you a mail when I get home:)

Dines: Thanks for the comments and the link. You're always welcome:)

Ben: I think you'd look better with one eye!!!:b

Mel: Thanks Mel, you're the man! Sculpting sounds fun, I'll definitely give it a shot someday:)

REE: Well, I'm not hiding anything, the producer is well aware and surf's my blog every now and then, so they don't seem to have a problem with it. Besides I've never mentioned the name of the studio, or any of the films. Yup, I'm hooked on PS!

Joel: Thanks for stopping by and yes I know, my photoblog has been neglected a bit lately. I promise I'll up the ante;)
