Ancient City

Here's the final (...or as final as it gets for now) version of the Ancient City. It was a learning experience and It's quite detailed, so it took me a little while to color. This is the first time I've ever colored any of my layouts. I added the rough sketch, a more detailed line-drawing, plus a black and white to show values better.

My latest venture

Update: Please go check out Brian Gubicza's great interpretation of "The Brave" here :

Please also find the link to his full blog in my links, it's definitely worth a look.

I've always found it very inspiring to listen to soundtracks while I'm drawing. There's a lot of similarities in drawing images and composing music, such as mood, contrast, story telling and of course composition etc. For a long time I've wanted to compose my own orchestral/cinematic music and finally did my own piece this weekend. I had a really great time making it and man, this kinda music demands some heavy computing power!!! You can hear it or download it here:

This is my very first attempt and would of course appreciate your opinion:)

Reef

Here's the final version of the Reef layout I've been working on this week. Again, this piece is done with black prismacolor pencil on vellum. I added my first thumb sketch and the line drawing. I can now go back to coloring the "Ancient City" establishing shot and if nothing comes in the way, hopefully that'll be my next post.
